The good news is that with a little effort, children can be taught how to spot trouble, how to avoid it, and what to do if trouble strikes. Children want to be safe. They know about crime and they're eager to learn how to prevent it.
Where does a child learn who to trust? Or when to walk away from a fight? For many years now, McGruff the Crime Dog has been an effective safety spokesman for children. They relate to McGruff and recognize him as a friend. McGruff' can teach children how to be safe.
How We're Fighting Back
The heart of the Give-A-Book® program is a unique children's book. Unique because each book is personalized with a child's name, age, the names of his or her friends and much more. This book presents the anti-crime message of your partner in this project, the National Crime Prevention Council, in a non-frightening, easy-to-understand format. And, because the books are personalized, children love to read them!

You can be an exclusive sponsor, or join other community-minded businesses in a shared sponsorship of these great books.
Teachers and police agree that education is the best method to help our children be safe. The materials to aid in this education are available, but too often the school has no funds to purchase them. This is where you make a difference!
As the date to distribute the books approaches, press coverage will be arranged and the project cleared with teachers, principals and administration. If you like, you could be present at the school when the books are presented to each child. Your participation in this program will generate thousands of dollars worth of publicity and goodwill in your community! And all you have to do is say YES! I WANT TO HELP THESE KIDS LEARN HOW TO

The cost of the Sponsorship is up to you, you can sponsor the whole program, or go together with other businesses in your community. Please help us get this program going. Each Sponsor will have a full page ad in the back of each book. Since these books are Personalized, they will be treasured for a lifetime. They really make a Wonderful Keepsake for the children. Every time they read this book, they will also see your Special Ad. We will design the ad with your logos and information, or you can design it yourself.
